Guide to Coaching at Turnpike

Thank you for volunteering to be a Turnpike Basketball Coach! Your time and mentorship are incredibly valuable to the young athletes in our program and community.

Preseason Requirements

All Turnpike coaches and on-court volunteers are required to do the following before the season begins:

  1. Register with us & provide three references
  2. Get a background check
  3. Become a Volunteer Building Director (VBD)
  4. Read through our player safety guidelines

Team Preparation Essentials

Right after tryouts or your league's player draft, take these steps to prepare for your first meeting with the team:

  1. Access your team page
  2. Add your team's practice schedule to SportsEngine
  3. Send out a welcome email to your team

  • Pregame & Postgame FAQ (including whether your team wears blue or white, which team provides the VBD, who sets up and takes down the gym, etc.)
