Fairfax County Public Schools Concussion Education »»
Turnpike Basketball recommends that all its coaches go through the county's Concussion Education and Online Verification Program. We also suggest that parent of athletes do the same, so that in the event your child experiences a head-injury, you know how to spot the signs of a concussion. The training program takes only 15-20 minutes to complete and could save your child from serious and permanent damage to their health.

Fairfax County Volunteer Building Director Exam »»
Each Turnpike Basketball team must have at least one Volunteer Building Director present during games in any Fairfax County Public Schools facility. The VBD is responsible for making sure that the facilities rules are followed and the facilities respected during our use. This program includes a short training video and a multiple-choice exam which you must pass in order to receive your certification. Turpike Basketball games cannot start unless there is a VBD present (can't be either of the coaches or assistant coaches for the game). If it is your team's turn to provide a VBD and you do not have one present, you risk forfeiting the game. Please consider getting your VBD certification.
